Westgate Family Dental is temporarily closed at this time. Our office will be closed at least through April 30, 2020.
What a difference a day makes!
As I have written before, our #1 priority is your health and well-being. At the direction of Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio State Dental Board, in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), we have suspended patient care at this time and are rescheduling appointments until at least April 6.
We will be available for any dental emergencies that might arise. Please call the office at 419-578-4100, or after hours call Dr Ted at home at 419-740-2065.
As this situation is constantly evolving, we will keep you advised of any changes going forward. As always, please feel free to call us with any questions.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last several months, you no doubt have heard of the Corona virus outbreak, also know as COVID-19. (Perhaps more than you ever wanted to know!) Naturally, we’ve been receiving some questions from patients, including how we as an office are responding, so I thought it might be helpful to let you know what we have been doing, and will continue to do, throughout the COVID-19 outbreak and beyond.
First and foremost, your health and well-being have always been our #1 concern, and always will be. We are fortunate that our infection control practices have been battle-tested and proven to work against the nastiest of bacteria and viruses. This includes much more contagious viruses such as Hepatitis B, much more lethal viruses like HIV, and just plain nasty contagions like tuberculosis.
All of our instruments are sterilized between each use, and products that cannot be sterilized are either single-use, or disinfected to hospital levels with EPA registered disinfectants. We test our autoclave each week to make certain that sterility is attained and maintained, and our staff is continually trained in infection control procedures, staying current in new and best practices.
Additionally, several years ago we installed an air scrubber (Air Scrubber Plus by Aerus) into our heating and air conditioning system. This technology, developed by NASA, cleans and disinfects the air. Independent research has shown that it removes air-borne pathogens such as Avian (Bird) flu, Swine flu, and Norovirus, as well as bacteria such as E. Coli and MRSA.
We also ask that patients reschedule if they are running a fever, develop a cough, or other flu-like systems (and call the other kind of doctor).
The bottom line is that we want our office to be as healthy an environment as possible, because it is the best way we can help you attain optimum oral health.
Yours in better health,
Ted Beitelschees, DDS
